What It is So Easy to Get Mariuana

1. I live in a country where marijuana is absolutely NOT legal, however you often just see people walking around smoking it without a care in the world. It seems incredibly odd to me that it is not legal, and yet it looks as though it is very easy to get hold of most of the time.

   I have a lot of friends who have tried smoking it, and not one of them has ever struggled to get hold of the stuff.

   So that raises the important question, of WHY it is so easy to get it when it is something that is illegal, and bad for you. Do you think that the laws need to be upheld more in order to be more effective?

2. You know, this occured to me today too. It's been a beautiful day and I've been in the city centre all afternoon. I walked past at least 3 groups of youths in the park who were clearly "passing the dutchie" in full view of everyone.

   I think it is very easy to get hold of these days. Affordable hydroponic technology means that many more people are now able to grow their own and don't have to rely on the dealer chain in order to score.

3. Cannabis is easy to grow in large numbers with very little cost. The seeds cost quite a bit if anything. Since it is so easy to grow and even easier to make money, any void in the market found will be probably taken by a grower.

4. It is so easy to get because it is a naturally grown substance that does not require any manufacturing. The buds are just pulled off of the Bush and are ready to be smoked. I have never personally grown it, but I have heard it is extremely easy to grow with a heat source.

5. btalivny and Rosyrain are correct. The other thing is that you don't really need to do anything special to the leaves after growing. In meth or coke, you have to do some chemistry stuff to get the drug. For weed, you dry it and you're ready to sell.

6. Well, it's easy to get because there's always some guy that points you to that guy knows how to get it. I remember when I first started smoking, that it wasn't so easy to get. I would always have to call the person who got it for me the first time so Icould get some, because I couldn't get it on my own. So, it always comes down to a guy that knows a guy that knows a guy kind of deal. And, as some have already said, you can grow it yourself if you have the place to do so.

7. Like everyone has suggested, it is affordable. Also, cheap quality is there in the market which is difficult to differentiate from the real thing. People need to be responsible. The law cannot do every single thing.

   It is illegal here too but yet everywhere you go you seeing people smoking a joint. Right in the open for all to see. They never try to hide it. You could ask anybody where you get some and they would be able to tell you somebody. It is readily available and affordable so it's easy to get it if you want it.

9. It's not really that illegal, I've had cops pass us by in the past while smoking and they even just tell us to dump it, it's not that harmful of a drug and as they said above it is easy to acquire and to produce so it leads to large quantities of weed for anyone and all who want it.

10. It's pretty easy to grow, that's one thing. Anybody can grow it. It's also pretty cheap to get hold of, so lots of people are selling it. When you can't get a dime bag for $5, demand is going to be pretty high.

    Some persons do not really see it as that much of a bad drug. They tend to lie more on the fact that it is being used in the treatment of ailments and young and old alike seem to be reveling in it. It is highly utilized where I am from as well and in this instant it is because it is widely grown here and as such it is easily accessed.

12. Drug enforcement agencies aren't able to stop weed smokers. If they lock them up another batch of users will take it's place. There is no end to pot smokers that's for sure. I don't have an answer for you on this one. There are new studies that suggest it should be legalized. Colorado is more then half way done with its fiscal year and we will see what kind of numbers that they put up. That will be the telling sign as to what direction Marijuana will go in America. I'm not only talk about the revenue generated, it's going to show the crime rate and how much less drug enforcement is spending every year.

13. Marijuana is a lot easier to get hold of this days but it's also very expensive. These days everybody seems to be growing it themselves in their attics and spare rooms. I think this is one reason why it has become so widespread. If you look back at all the drug campaigns that were happening between ten to fifteen years ago, you can see that the advice offered was that if you're going to do drugs then stick to marijuana - they were encouraging using marijuana to discourage people from using other substances!

14. I think a main reason is how easy it is to grow, and the ability to hide it in a basement ect.

15. I know that Marijuana is not legal where I am from, but it is very easy to get your hands on it just like you said. I believe that a reason behind this is that people, and by people I mean the government, are starting to realize that it is not half as bad as thought to be. Obviously there are other reasons behind this like how easy it is to grow and how much of it there really is. There is so much in circulation at a time that really anyone could just find some marijuana and sell it to you. It takes no type of talent to grow marijuana in your yard or basement and then sell it to people when so many people want some.

16. Cheeky_cheek, it's the same in my country. It's illegal, yet it feels like it is everywhere. I guess like some said it's easy to grow so on that basis alone it's going to easy to access. I alwys wondered if my old gardener might have slipped some in my garden. He was so shady and liked to light up. Had he done that I would have been the one to face the courts. Oh well....

17. I think that it is easy to get it because it is easy to grow. A lot of sellers can easily grow a bunch of marijuana and sell it to others. By doing this, they are able to make a huge amount of profit for what the difficulty is. Also, many teenagers are introduced to marijuana as a result of peer pressure so the demand is very high. To meet this high demand, sellers grow a huge amount of marijuana and make a ton of money by doing so.

18. As the above posters have mentioned I agree that it is likely because it is so easy to grow. In order to produce a complex drug such as cocaine or heroin at least a rudimentary knowledge of chemistry is required. I had someone explain to me once that it's called 'weed' because it grows like one. While tending to the plant can produce more, it will essentially look after itself.

    I think there is not as much of a stigma about its use either. In the same way that some prescription drugs do not have much of a stigma attached to them, despite the damage they can cause.

    It is sometimes difficult to stop marijuana cultivation in a society where almost everybody smokes it. You may find that most people have some few marijuana plants in their backyards. In such societies, children access it easily hence becoming addicts at early age.

20. It is illegal there so, the authorities there should do something about that. In here it is illegal and have not seen someone using weed in public cause it is illegal and can be penalized if doing that.
